Interesting year old Email about Comet Holmes
I plan to show this to several sites if anything comes of it. Thought you guys could use a conspiracy. A friend whose mom is a programmer sent it to me.

Hey xxxxx,
I know how you love conspiracies. Here is an email that Mom discovered when she was cleaning the computer at the library. She claims the date sent was June of 05. If this is true, you may have one!!

Deep Impact will rendezvous with the comet TT on July 4, 2005. We will have five months to pour over the numbers. Hopefully, we will know the megatons needed for our last shot with Holmes. We plan to launch December 14th using a Boeing Delta 7920 with the launch name USA 193 (NROL-21) carrying the nuclear payload. As it stands, if we can launch before December 2007, we will have 9 months before intercept, and 16 months for the answer.
...............................
The calculations for changing Holmes’ orbit should be in by late November as the impact will be approximately. a month earlier. We have XXXXXXX working on this even now. I wonder if the “impact” will be visible. The comet will be getting farther from the sun by then, so any explanation will be interesting.............
The meetings with ULA have been productive.
Please keep me up to date on the negotiations with the needed equipment..........
I sent this email to you using the library for anonymity. Please make no copies and continue the preparations.
Let’s hope for some fireworks this Independence Day.

Regards,

The way I understand is that Holmes was the last practice using a nuke before the "As it stands, if we can launch before December 2007, we will have 9 months before intercept, and 16 months for the answer." event.

Sleuthing:
Boeing Delta 7920
NROL-21
-------
The United Launch Alliance launched a Boeing Delta 7920 on Dec 14 carrying a secret National Reconnaissance Office payload. The payload was to be deployed into an initial 354 x 376 km x 58.5 deg orbit. In contrast to most secret launches, analysts appear to have little clue as to what this payload may be. It has been given the cover name USA 193; it was on launch manifests as NRO launch 21 (NROL-21).

USA 193/NROL-21 Launched
The National Reconnaisance Office, in conjunction with United Launch Alliance, has successfully launched USA 193/NROL-21 into low earth orbit.

The payload was a classified satellite from the National Reconnaissance Office, NROL-21. The satellite separated from the rocket and entered its orbit at 3:58 p.m., after the Delta II carried it at speeds exceeding 15,000 miles per hour.
The two-stage rocket, a Delta II 7920-10, was 12 stories high, had nine strap-on solid rocket boosters and a 10-foot diameter nose cone.
The satellite's orbit is about 200 miles above the Earth.
[comment: that's a big two-stage missile isn't it, for a low orbit?]

Re: Interesting year old Email about Comet Holmes
The astro-geeks are still scratching their heads about this and with no data coming forth from the big scopes we can scratch too.
As far as I can figure now some astronomers are still reckoning in an impact on Holmes.
What type? Asteroid? Still speculation.
Some propose that Holmes has a satellite [Watson?] that may periodically create some kind of gravity strain, spark or fragments impact--which would allow an explanation for the 1892 event as well.
Some still tempt the artificial impact idea. Why? Because we've seen this recently with Deep Impact Comet Tempel 1.
I expect more to unravel too, more ideas, as we continue to observe. It ain't going away for a while.
Update: On Oct. 24th the comet exploded, brightening a million-fold to naked eye visibility. It has since expanded almost as large as a full Moon while dimming only slightly. And on Nov. 8th, astronomers watched in amazement as the comet's tail broke off! --spaceweather.com
Amazement is amazing!

Re: Interesting year old Email about Comet Holmes
One more time, artificial impact is no leap into woo-woo goo. Dammit, we've seen it. In 2005 Deep impact hurled a wee copper pellet at a comet...
KAHBOOM!
[wonder why they used copper?]
Quote NASA: what did we do to this comet!

So now aside from the old email about Holmes a top spookoid gang, the NRO, has a vastly expensive package go awol. So hmmmm....HMMMMM!
hmmm is good, nor bad, makes you inquisitive, thus human.

Kent, your link at 12:22 to Tempel 1
Those photos certainly look different than the current ones of Holmes. The Tempel 1 photos show an opaque cloud reminiscent of a volcanic eruption instructure and irregularity. The holmes outburst is translucent and thin, symmetrical. |

True. Deep Impact mission tossed a wee copper BB at Tempel 1. Even then the reaction was far more than expected.
So if Holmes was impacted [a theory still in the stew] what was it?
If a normal cometary outburst this is puzzling. It isn't as if Holmmes is kissing the sun... Yes, I know it happened in 1892 also, well what the blazes was that too? Huh?
The Pros don't know, we don't know, ain't it fun!
Comet 17P Holmes is still growing! Go look at it! Yeehaw!
Through the scope at Great Shefford Observatory the inner coma a tad asymmetrical too:

Alternately
(NRO) (aka MJ-TF), the military/intelligence operations arm of the PI-40 Subcommittee, conducts surveillance, interdiction, capture and confiscation of UFOs and their extra-terrestrial occupants for intelligence and "International Security" purposes; surveilles and "interacts" with close encounter experiencers, including occasional physically and sexually assaultive mind control kidnappings disguised as "Alien abductions" for psychological warfare and dis-informational purposes, headquarters unknown, probably compartmented and dispersed among various elite Delta Force Special Operations units, such as the USAF Blue Light at Hurlburt Field, Mary Esther, FL and Beale Air Force Base, Marysville, CA.
